The Priest Class

Speak with the authority of a god with The Priest Class. 

This class is a hyper-customizable, point-based, armorless, divine spellcaster, that aids allies from the back lines of combat like a Sorcerer or Wizard. Where a Paladin acts as the hand of their god, and a Cleric acts as their will, a Priest acts as their god's voice.

The Priest gains access to two forms of subclass. A Method of Worship that determines their Spellcasting Focus and affects a subset of spells, and a Priest Subclass, which determines their playstyle more  broadly.

The Priest also gains access to Deity's Domains, options that each grant a feature and a few spells, to help better reflect the god or pantheon they worship.

This release contains the following:

Class:

• The Priest. A divine spellcasting class - a 'man of the cloth' and religious scholar, to contrast the Cleric's 'war priest'.

Subclasses and Deity's Domains: 

• Methods of Worship: 
  • Prayer. Improves the effectiveness of healing magic.
  • Sacrifice. Modifies Smite spells, making them easier to use.
  • Song. Helps Priests in maintaining Concentration.
  • Spirit. Grants a Familiar, improving the range of spells.
  • Study. Shortens the duration of Ritual spells
• Deity's Domains:
  • 26 Deity's Domains. From Hearth to War, Arcana to Harvest, Knowledge to Undeath.
• Priest Subclasses:
  • Ascetic. The 'default' option, an especially devoted Priest, with access to an additional domain.
  • Cultist. A debuffer, dealing damage by hindering your foes.
  • Judge. A front-line fighter, blending magic and martial abilities.
  • Oracle. A support focused option with the ability to manipulate initiative.
  • Truthseeker. An informer subclass, leading questioning in roleplay, or revealing weaknesses in combat.

• Spells:
  • 100+ spells, at least one at every spell level, including original spells, spells used under an open license, and spells used with permission from the creator.
• Backgrounds:
  • Four brand new backgrounds, each making used of a new feat created for this document.
• Feats:
  • 4 Origin Feats. Forsake your divine path, swear a Hippocratic Oath, or become a Sacred Initiate or Theologian.
  • 4 General Feats. Become Heaven-Touched or a Herald, or double down on your spellcasting, healing others as a Salveomancer, or striking them down as a Smiting Initiate.
  • 3 Epic Boon Feats. Gain the blessing of an angel, become bound to a devil, or the perfect will of an unbreakable mind.
• Items:
  • 9 Magic Items. All divinely-themed, from candles to cudgels, for use by all kinds of classes.
  • 5 Mundane Items. including a new Priest's Pack, and a unique Holy Symbol
